Suburbs: indexes of contemporary universes

Spatial morphology being a tool of understanding and criticism of society is a topos of urban thought. The most obvious example is the lefebvrian postulate of the production of space. Les nouvelles périphéries urbaines: formes, logiques et modèles de la ville contemporaine (2010) by Marc Dumont and Emmanuelle Hellier is of interest because it applies this scheme to the transformation of urban suburbs, considering them as indexes of contemporary universes.
