For a long time, spatial players have thought of suburban spaces as uninteresting; nowadays however, these spaces take a more and more important position within the architectural and urbanistic debate. The evolution of housing in such spaces is one proof of this evolution. This conference suggests to question how contemporary group housing systems reinterpret the suburban in an entirely new way, in particular through actions of densification [flyer].
Frédéric Frank is an EPFL architect and holds a science PhD. Since 2011, he acts as scientific collaborator of the Laboratoire de théorie et d’histoire de l’architecture at the EPFL. In parallel to his academic activity, he works as an independent architect.
